May 31-Class Night. June tries to imitate Carmen Miranda and Evelyn Shorb dances. June 3-As we call the last roll for this term we find we've lost Mary Sword and Clara Lou Boller to the bonds of matrimony. Also Paul Briggs preferred to work rather than come to school. Good Luck to the Seniors. 46-47 September 10-School opens again, but with many changes. Dr. E. Guy Greenawalt takes over as Supervising Principal. September ll-Vv'e also have a new homeroom teacher: John R. Polinsky. VVhen call- ing the roll we have missing Ruth and Rachel Meyers. VVe welcome another redhead, Harold Frye. September 23-June Myers returns from a recent appendectomy and starts arguing with Mrs. Gordy, who is substituting for Mrs. Shoop. October 16-Assembly on VVomen in History. VVasn't Eve cute? October 18-We ordered our class rings today. November 13-Hurrah! VVe beat Dover. November .20-A few of us skip school to go to Lancaster to see our team beat New Holland. VVe bring home the beautiful trophy too. Jack was really in there. VVe can't decide whether Dr. Greenawalt was happy about it or not. November Zl-Sorrow invades our classroom when we learn that Betty Rosenberry, the jolliest girl in our class, died this morning. December 19-Kilroy is losing popularity and we're dreaming of a VVhite Christmas. December Q3-VVe get a Christmas vacation till January 2. Happy Days. January 27-Everyone discussing Margie New name for Mr. Polinsky is Johnny- kins. February 3- Red Frye discusses an antiseptic maniac in English class. We'd all like to know what that is. including Mrs. Shoop. March 6-VVe're all running around in circles because our class rings came. March 21-2.2-Operetta, The Gypsy Rover. June Myers and Glenn Barnes have major roles and in the chorus are: Olive Hayes, Evelyn Shorb, Joyce Foreman, Evelyn Benedick, Janice Rosenberry, Mary Lou Schenck, Roberta Hamil, Jack Hill, Donald Hopkins, Richard Hop- kins, and Nathan Heckman, April 15-'We've been very busy cooking in order to make a little necessary money toward the Junior-Senior Banquet. May S-9- January Thaw. Members of our class in this dramatic production: Evelyn , Benedick, VVanda Hull, June Myers and Milton Garnes. May 15-Donning our pretty gowns and handsome suits, we give the Seniors a farewell banquet at Hotel W'ashington. June 10-All the Seniors are acting a little crazy, doing gymnastics on the front lawn and yelling all the time. June 16-Seniors have graduated and this is our last day. VVe really will miss them them next year because we've known them so long. 47-48 September 2-We are Seniors! But the faculty is so new we're lost. September 9-We find so many missing this year: Evelyn Shorb, Mary Jane Hege, Margaret Reeder. Evelyn Kessinger and Leona Stahl. John Haw- baker has not as yet become dignified enough to be a senior. September 23-VVe elect class ofiicers and they are: Raymond Hawbaker, president: Nathan Heckman, vice president: Wianda Hull, secretaryg Olive Hayes, treasurer. October 24-XVe sponsor a square dance and everyone has a wonderful time. November 13-VVe go to Dover for a soccer game but they beat us this year, November 20-Tryouts for dramatics: June Myers, Evelyn Benedick, Milton Garnes, Raymond Hawbaker, Janice Rosenberry and Roberta Hamil are among this group.

Class History 44-45 September 11-Forty-six bashful green Freshmen are swarming through the halls. September 20-VVe've learned our way around now, and we've made the Girls' Chorus so large they have to hold practice in the auditorium. September 21-Class otlieers elected: president, Evelyn Benedickg vice president. l'aul J October l October 1 Briggs: secretary, Helen Auman: treasurer. Glenn liarnes. 2-.lohn ,lones leaves us for another school. S-Five Freshmen accepted for parts in Thumbs Cpu: XYanda Hull. Evelyn Benedick. ,lune Myers, Clara Lou Boller and Klary Sword. New boy, Harold Keyser. gets the once over. October Zll-Sophomores initiate us. XYanda and Nellie counted their toes. T November 3-Student Council party. 'lohn Hawbaker and lsetty l.amaster have discovered each other. November 16-Vi'e give the first assembly of the year. December December january 1 4-Edith Briggs quits school. 21-Christmas vacation till .lanuary 1. 2-Mary Lou is dating a Senior. She decided to drop her Soph. January 25-Snow! No school. February 5-Back to school from a snowy vacation. March 16-Everyone has Spring Fever. March 30-XYhewl Half-day Easter vacation. April -lf--Kenneth Flagle gives us a talk on war experiences. Very interesting - we omit three classes. April 13-Dramatic Club Spring Frolic. Mary Lou is back with her Sophomore. May 16- Mike wins lots of ribbons at track meet. Also Dick Hopkins and Glenn Barnes win ribbons. june 5-School's out. Freshmen walk off with the lutramural Cup. June 6-Roller skating party at Cold Springs. 45-46 September ll-.-Xt last we are Sophomore-s. No more greenie business. September 13-After we are settled in the same room as last year we find Glenn Sbives, Robert Deshong and Fmmert Shelly missing. Fiut we welcome Evelyn Shorband XN'illiam Glass. October 19-lnitiation for those dear little Freshmen. Very good sports even if they didn't believe there was water in the buckets. November 9-Members of our class taking parts in Tish are XYanda Hull. Evelyn Benedick. ,lune Myers, Raymond Hawbaker. and Milton Garnes. November 28-The twins have scarlet fever so Mr. and Mrs. l-ausch are quarantined. That academy professor teaching math makes us wish the walls were sound proof. December 17-Mr. and Mrs. Lausch have returned and we're glad because our Latin teachers didn't know as much as we do. December 21-Christmas vacation till December 31. February 6-Pictures taken today. February S-Dick Hopkins twists his ankle and Benny looks sad. February 19-Snow - eleven and one-half inches! March S-Pictures arrive but oooh! Joyce has traded her Freshman in for a Senior. March 1-l-'lune and Glenn trv harmonizing in an assembly progrzun. Not much harmony l . V March 29-A magician casts a spell over us and we strike. XYe even become pickets. December 18-19-Dramatic Club presents A Date With Judy. December 23-Off for a three-day Christmas vacation. January 1-About fourteen of us decide to take New Year's off. Too rainy to go ice-skating though. January 13-Almost everyone goes to the Farm Show. January 23-Janice decides to leave us because she doesn't like the idea of Detention Hall. We'll miss her. January 30-Minstrel Show. Mr. Wingerd looked so-o-o cute. February 13-Deadline for essays on Will Democracy Survive ? February 17-Our beautiful green and white hats and pennants arrive. February 25-Mr. Mowrey presents musical assembly. But one simply couldn't get a laugh. March 8-VVanda Hull is ill with appendicitis. March 10-Movie, Sun Valley Serenade, the film strung from one end of the building to the other. April 8-9-Operetta, Pirates of Penzance. May 14-Junior-Senior Banquet at Hotel Vliashington. May 21-VVe're very sad because at last it's time to go. Adieu. Class Hli.Yf0FI-011. JUNE MYERS. Class Poem On September of Nineteen Forty-four, The school doors opened wide once more. And forty-six Freshmen entered in Their four years of High School to begin. VVe studied hard to make the grade. But feel ourselves highly repaid, VVhen looking back along the way Our thoughts to happy moments stray. To the many teachers we've met here, Both those serene and those severe, XVe express our gratitude for their ambitions And efforts to make us better citizens. Our hopes for a world peaceful and strong, Will be our guide as we go along. And may our dreams continue bright. And freedom always remain our right. Only twenty-six remain as the time draws nigh. Our school days have passed quickly by. To our Alma Mater, our thoughts will often turn. But we must Learn to live, and live to learn. JUNE lhlYERS.
