Class Will and Testament We the class of 1948. of the Lemasters High School of Peters Township in the county of Franklin. in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. hereby, make, publish. this to he our last will and testament hereby revoking all wills or testimentary papers of any kind by us, heretofore made, declaring this only to be our last will and testament. In witness, whereof. we. the said Class of 1948, have to this our last will and testament set our hand and seal this tifteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine lnmdred and forty-eight. Item l: To the junior Class we leave the privilege of being dismissed lirst, the ability to get out of English class. and the ability to cooperate. Item II: XYe bequeath our ability to argue to the Sophomore Class. Item III 1' To the Freshmen we bestow the good will of the faculty. and any worthless possessions that we may have left in our hasty departure. Item IV: To the faculty we extend our great appreciation for their services throughout the past four years. Item Y: Be the succeeding rejected items of personal individual members of the class of 19-I8 fall heir to the signitied recipients: Roberta Hamil leaves her Pauline Beatty bequeaths Donald Hopkins wills his Eugene Hull leaves some Doris Reeder wills her quietness and dislike for men to Donna Armstrong. ,lack Hill requests that his fine singing ability be given to Ivan Myers. Betty Lamaster leaves ,Iune Myeis leaves her Mike Riley requests Keefer wills her Fritz bequeaths Cuff leaves her petite features to .Ioan Mellott. her easy to manage hair to Agnes Deaver. high scoring in basketball games to Bob Blattenberger. of his height to his brother. the cute look with bangs to Betty .-Xrnold. temper and hair to match to Mary Logue. that his calmness in athletics and games be given to Guy many boy friends to Dorothy Thompson. his oftice job to Elton Shelly. ability to get along with everyone to the entire student Frances Robison wills her cherry pie making ability to Loretta Rockwell. Mary I.ou Schenck requests that her long eyelashes be given to Dolly Gordon. Richard Hopkins bequeaths his 90 average to any one who can hold his record. .loyce Foreman leaves her pug nose to Bob Lawyer. Nathan Heckman leaves his mathematical ability to Bill Nelling. VN'anda Hull requests that her car be given to anyone who can take good care of the privilege of being a one-man woman to Helen Barnes. Harold Frye wills his love for arguing and the knack of love-making to johnny Glenn Barnes leaves his blonde wavy hair and good looks to Clarence Pittman. Olive Hayes wills sympathy and ability for all the future students nfho study Milton fiarnes leaves his large vocabulary and joke telling to Reuben Locke. Evelyn Benedick wills Helen Auman requests XYilma Keyser leaves her temper and frankness to Marlene Zimmerman and warns use it in small doses. her sparkling blue eyes to Fred Schenck. that her curly hair be given to Edna Keefer. Glenn Barnes has become a teacher and the female students really swoon over those blonde waves in his hair. He is also the coach of the schools ball team. The boys of our class were real athletes. Eugene Hull is an air mail pilot with at run between New York and Paris. I remember when he used to work at the Fort Loudon Post Office. Pauline Beatty is married and lives in Mercersburg, The only profession that interests her is being a good housewife. Roberta Hznnil has also married, but she has a career, too. She is Z1 hat model and I'll bet she makes a cute one nith that beautiful dark hair. Helen Cuff is engaged. At present she is working in Il department store in Baltimore. Doris Reeder is zrsecretary in fl bank and very much devoted to her work. ,Nellie Keefer is a mathematics teacher at Lemasters High School. And. last but not least of my classmates, is the petite Evelyn Rene-dick. She has achieved her greatest ambition. that ef ll housewife and nurse. She is married to a doctor from North Carolina. I was happy as I went to bed that night because my classmates have been so successful and I decided that as soon possible I would have an Alumni Party for the class of 1948, just for old times! sake. Class History 44-45 September 11-Forty-six bashful green Freshmen are swarming through the halls. September 20-VVe've learned our way around now, and we've made the Girls' Chorus so large they have to hold practice in the auditorium. September 21-Class otlieers elected: president, Evelyn Benedickg vice president. l'aul J October l October 1 Briggs: secretary, Helen Auman: treasurer. Glenn liarnes. 2-.lohn ,lones leaves us for another school. S-Five Freshmen accepted for parts in Thumbs Cpu: XYanda Hull. Evelyn Benedick. ,lune Myers, Clara Lou Boller and Klary Sword. New boy, Harold Keyser. gets the once over. October Zll-Sophomores initiate us. XYanda and Nellie counted their toes. T November 3-Student Council party. 'lohn Hawbaker and lsetty l.amaster have discovered each other. November 16-Vi'e give the first assembly of the year. December December january 1 4-Edith Briggs quits school. 21-Christmas vacation till .lanuary 1. 2-Mary Lou is dating a Senior. She decided to drop her Soph. January 25-Snow! No school. February 5-Back to school from a snowy vacation. March 16-Everyone has Spring Fever. March 30-XYhewl Half-day Easter vacation. April -lf--Kenneth Flagle gives us a talk on war experiences. Very interesting - we omit three classes. April 13-Dramatic Club Spring Frolic. Mary Lou is back with her Sophomore. May 16- Mike wins lots of ribbons at track meet. Also Dick Hopkins and Glenn Barnes win ribbons. june 5-School's out. Freshmen walk off with the lutramural Cup. June 6-Roller skating party at Cold Springs. 45-46 September ll-.-Xt last we are Sophomore-s. No more greenie business. September 13-After we are settled in the same room as last year we find Glenn Sbives, Robert Deshong and Fmmert Shelly missing. Fiut we welcome Evelyn Shorband XN'illiam Glass. October 19-lnitiation for those dear little Freshmen. Very good sports even if they didn't believe there was water in the buckets. November 9-Members of our class taking parts in Tish are XYanda Hull. Evelyn Benedick. ,lune Myers, Raymond Hawbaker. and Milton Garnes. November 28-The twins have scarlet fever so Mr. and Mrs. l-ausch are quarantined. That academy professor teaching math makes us wish the walls were sound proof. December 17-Mr. and Mrs. Lausch have returned and we're glad because our Latin teachers didn't know as much as we do. December 21-Christmas vacation till December 31. February 6-Pictures taken today. February S-Dick Hopkins twists his ankle and Benny looks sad. February 19-Snow - eleven and one-half inches! March S-Pictures arrive but oooh! Joyce has traded her Freshman in for a Senior. March 1-l-'lune and Glenn trv harmonizing in an assembly progrzun. Not much harmony l . V March 29-A magician casts a spell over us and we strike. XYe even become pickets.
