ilk W Revived by Mr. Hamil after a six years' elapse of time, the new school 'band is new showing great promise for the future. Its membership numbers twenty and is comprised of youngsters from the fourth grade through high school. The last organized band. at Lemasters High School faded out in 1932, although an orchestra continued until 1935. These instrumental music organizations, conducted by Mr. Donald K. Bonney, were, according to L-H.S.'.e1umni, very successful and won much glory for themselves. From the departure of Mr. Bonney until the present time the school has been without either 'band or orchestra. Although Mr. I-Iamil and his musical preteges have practiced faithfully diring the last' activity period three days a week since September, and have shown much progress, they have not yet made any public or even school appearances. Rumors are existent, however, that the ,group plans to hold longer practices at night in preparation for s, benefit concert before the close of school. The band is scheduled to play the processional for the graduating class on Commencement Night. The development of a bend is 11 long, slow process- Mr. Hamil and his twenty musicians already deserve much credit for their perseverance and patience. By next year L.H.S. should have a really functioning hand.
