SPRING-ASB GOVERNMENT CFROM LEFT TO RIGHTJ President, Bob Phiztenmeir Vice Pres: dent, Val Wagner, Treasurer, Cliff Murry Secretary jackie Walls CNOT SHOWNJ At Leland in the spring semester, in spite of spring and the fever it brings, Leland students continued the trend of getting together. They not only got together, but they stayed together, worked together and succeeded together, making Leland a place in which we can all take pride. A sincere thanks to all those who contributed to this effort either by serving on a committee or acting a commissioner or justice. It was through you, as the branches of the house, that enabled so much work to be accomplished in so shorta time. Hopefully the atmosphere of unity created through the student union, the welcome committee, the tutor system the curriculum committee will become tradition to extend this atmosphere to classes to come. Thank you, Bob Phiztenrneir Spring ASB President 1 X flaisllmwl l43 N

1 Lf xxx In the spring of 1969, the student-bod of Leland obviously felt that changes in student government were neede badly. My election to the office of Stu dent-body President was the final out come of this feeling. I felt then, that be sides the mediocre tasks and respon sibilities of being A.S.B. President, m ultimate accomplishment would be t L-s. S Qs UTI gf-4 fu-4 :O CJ 32 2-0 11 ....-4 3, -US ru Sf: Q..-an ,D- 32 ... The attitude was definitel , and is still changing towards studen government. While the first radica candidates were opposed by forces boast ing a conservative platform, the can didates for the semester of '70 becam W either of the established radical faction or a progressive party candidate. I speculate that it wil be a long, long time before a conservative Candi Leland. The means for change are still develop ldate is elected or even runs for an A.S.B. office a ing and I sincerely hope these means never sto developing. The means which prevail for change in any semester will only be a direct result of th student-body's attitudes and, or needs for this ch ange. Thank you, jeb Beck A.S.B. President, Fall Semeste
