The purpose of this organization is to provide interscholastic competition for the highly skilled. Competively, Leland has gotten off to a success- ful start. The fall sports which include swimming and tennis found us placing second in swimming to Santa Clara and the tennis team was first in divi- sion. The A basketball team ended their season undefeated and the B team ended up in second place. Presently the girls are starting their volleyball and gymnastics seasons and in the last quarter they will be in badmitton and softball. Later this spring Leland will host the League Gymnastics Finals and a Saturday clinic on Karate and Self-Defense. G.A.A. has also planned a ski trip to Bear Valley and a camp- ing trip to Mt. Madonna. It is hoped that the girls in the organization feel that this year has been fun and successful and has met the objectives stated above. Miss Beard, Mrs. Reiswig, Miss Strand 130

SPIRIT is not merely yelling at ral- lies or at games. It is getting involved and having fun. And we did have fun this year. I loved working with Miss Beard and the spirit staff.
