This was a must year for the Leland Football Team . . . a year to establish a Winning Tradition in football. This has been ac- complished! Thru the sincere desire, and sound character of our young men, we have truly established a Winning Tradition. A Football Program, wherever it is, or under whatever system it may be conducted is based on certain basic principles. The Keystone of these principles is the fact that football is a game of Great Emotion. A Team can only be successful when it is capable of developing an intense feeling concerning victory . . . and defeat. Our team was successful. The members of our squad willingly subjected their personal interests for the best interest of the Team. Because of them, this year, OUR TEAM CAME TO PLAY ... and in doing so ... they have rightfully earned the respect of Our School, Our Community, The Press, and other Football teams in the Santa Clara Valley.
