- tt.. This year Leland's drama department presented its first play entitled Mr. Hobbs Vacation. The play proved to be an outstanding performance in both acting and production. Mr. Hobbs Vacation was a comedy enacted by a cast showing talent far above the average. Mr. Hobbs was portrayed by Bill Higgens who adlibbed his own character which paralleled the role of Mr. Hobbs. Inspired by Mr. LoBues excellent direction the students excelled in carrying out their individual roles in each play. The drama department also presented another play which was entitled All My Sons . It was presented late in the spring. This drama involved a fathers failures in himself and the affect it had on his family and immediate friends. It was a contrast to the first play but it too turned out very well. 88

Phofvgraphy Under the able direction of Mr. Dave Dickerson, the Charger Photography Staff had an eventful and interesting year. Students captured exciting and memorable campus and social activities for Leland's yearbook and newspaper, while often endangering their lives dodging blocks on the side- lines or balancing on a teetering ladder. Working many long hours in the well-equipped de- veloping lab these students made an outstanding contribu- tion to the campus life.
