INSTRUME TAL MUSIC BURTON MA RT IN, Instr'uctor Last year, Mr. Martin came to L.G.S. and taught various instruments as a part of the activity program. Starting this fall, instrumental music has become an integral part of the curriculum. Twenty-two students enrolled and they form the nucleus of our growing band. Activ- ities: Co-Director of Circus. TYPISTS Stephanie Kearley and Vonne Knapp with distraction furnished by David Gibbs. Instructors, MRS. MARTHA KEARLEY COMMERCIAL MISS Amt SM.. ARLO MONROE For all who will shortly enter jobs and homes of their own, Leland and Gray offers courses specifically intended to aid in accomplishing these aims. Both girls and boys may elect one to four years of arts and crafts andfor homemaking. Most boys include trades and some take this work all four years. The com- mercial course includes two years each of typing, shorthand, and bookkeeping and many students move from these courses into business colleges or office positions directly upon graduating. All students are encouraged to include the A.A.A. sponsored course in driver education, which includes driving and safety instruction.
