Jeff Vance escorts Debbie Selhorst Princess Kelly Princess Jill Princess Dorothy Homecoming '84 Court and Escorts: Dorothy Niese, Robert Solis, Kelly Lammers, Roger Niese, Debbie Selhorst, Jeff Vance, Beth Buckland, Scott Jones, Jill Kuhlman, Pat Schroeder The 1984 Homecoming festivities began with a week full of spirited events. The week included the following days: hat and shade, punk, opposite, color, and Hawaiian. On Hawaiian day people were seen in everything from shorts and lei's to Hefty's 3-ply grass skirts. At noon while some people were catching some rays under the bright gym lights, others were practicing the Hula. Thursday night's bon-fire got everyone fired up for the game with the Van Kuren Knights. The big game finally arrived, with Queen Debbie Selhorst and her court at the center of attention. Although we lost the game, the festive mood still lingered in the air. More students attended the Student Council's Homecoming dance since it followed the game. The theme revolved around Cyndi Lauper's hit 'Time After Time . The cafeteria was decorated in rainbow colors. ,, . , Homecoming 21

On the eve of October 31, the witches, goblins, and ghosts of Leipsic came out to haunt the town. This year the annual Halloween parade was moved from the downtown business district to the Leipsic football field. Before the parade, the Viking Brass entertained the awaiting audience by sharing the music performed at football games throughout the season. Queen Jenny Fenbert and King Robert Solis were aided by Mayor Jim Russell and his wife Ann Russell in ruling over the Halloween festivities. Beth Buckland, Matt Logan, Debbie Selhorst, and Jeff Vance made up the rest of the Halloween Court. King Robert Solis and Queen Jenny Fenbert are aided by Mayor Jim Russell and his wife, Ann Jenny, Marcia and Beth are the real Dum Dums of L.H.S.
