 4tut 7 uut 7 at aM A dream became reality for thirteen students and an advisor as they were able to travel to Paris, France, for weight unforgettable days. gBDuring their stay, the group Ipwas able to see such sights as |j|the Notre Dame Cathedral, tN Eiffel Tower, and the Palace at H Versailles. PAL (Pride At Leipsic) and VIP (Very Involved Person) awards were given by the teachers to -those students who performed: special tasks. Throughout the basketball season, the newly formed Mean Machine, an all male cheering section, supported the cheerleaders in leading the LHS cheering section and in organizing new cheers. The Mean Machine consisted of 25 members and was under the direction of high school principal, Lee C. Schmitt. Members in the top picture are: Row one: Mr. Schmitt, Dave Torres, Barry McCullough. The students in Industrial Arts struck gold when they received first place at the Industrial Arts State Convention. Under the guidance of Mr. Heitmeyer, the students held their title for the second consecutive year. The title is awarded to the school with the best quality of workmanship in the various divisions of industrial technology. 5

Academically, the sun also shone on the halls of LHS. Many science students participated in the district science fair contest at Bowling Green. The students were able to continue winning by gaining the District Science Day School Award. This plaque was given to the school with the highest total points for all students participating.
