Class History The first day of September in 1964 was warm and sunny. Precisely at 8:25 the school doors burst open and students of all ages poured in for their first day of classes. Among these students were approximately 70 confused freshmen who proudly called themselves, The Class of ’68. Mrs. Foley bravely and graciously accepted the task of guiding our class through the coming four years. We chose Reagan Foley, Betty Bryan, Anne Wilhelm and Jane Dehnart as our class officers. We elected Doris Siebei)-eck as our Homecoming attendant. Our freshman basketball team was certainly not the best, but we did have spirit which was due to the efforts of Betty Bryan, Becky Steiner, Brenda Punches, and Janet Rayle, our cheerleaders. Since we had one whole year's experience, the first day of school in our sophomore year was almost routine. We elected Dave Niese, Doris Siebeneck, Brenda Punches, and Betty Bryan as our officers. Betty Bryan also represented the sophomores as Homecoming attendant and as a member of the reserve cheerleaders. We were very excited about ordering our class rings and when we received them in the spring, we knew we could not turn back. Juniors already! It almost seemed impossible that we had completed two years of high school: however, the two busiest years still lay in the future. Our class officers for this year were Jack Christman, Anne Wilhelm, Jane Dehnart and Dave Hock. We were proud to have Betty Bryan chosen as varsity cheerleader and Janet Rayle as reserve cheerleader. Anne Wilhelm was chosen Homecoming attendant. Suddenly we realized that we urgently needed money if we were to give the seniors a memorable prom. Under Mrs. Foley's guidance and with hard work, we were able to make our magazine sale a success. We also staged a play entitled, Girl Crazy. On May 14, we gave the seniors a lovely prom the theme of which was Somewhere My Love. After summer vacation ended, we became so involved in our busiest year that we hardly had time to realize that we were seniors. We elected Dick Schubert, Dave Niese, Karen Schey, and Jack White as our officers for the year. The football players selected Vickie Claude as Homecoming Queen and we seniors chose Karen Schey as senior attendant. Under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Jilek, we staged the drama, Our Town, which was a tremendous success. When we ordered our graduation invitations and were measured for caps and gowns, we realized that our high school days were coming to an end. The juniors gave us a lovely send-off with a prom entitled Tahitian Holiday. Within a week we had finished final exams and were ready for commencement. Dennis McCallister, Karen Schey, Dave Niese, Kathy Eicher, Bruce Allen, Doris Siebeneck, and Anne Wilhelm were our honor students. Karen and Dennis gave speeches at graduation. Commencement marked the end of a period in our lives; however, it also marked the beginning of a greater adventure. With a feeling of nostalgia we said good-bye to our classmates and teachers, and departed prepared to begin a new adventure. Class Motto What is today's dream is tomorrow’s reality.
