We hope everyone will continue to patronize us by buying concessions at basketball games. SUZANNE K I. A USING CHOSEN “QUEEN OF HOMECOMING” Miss Suzanne Klausing was chosen by the football squad to reign as queen of homecoming festivities on October 13. She was crowned by Bob Robinson, captain of the team, in ceremonies at half-time of the Leipsic-P a u 1 d i n g game. The queen's attendants, chosen losses to be members of the •ore: senior, Mary Ann Wvnona Watkins; jmd fresh- Seniors Class History We began our high school lives in September, 1958. Mr. Hartman (poor soul) was assigned advisor of our class. Our mighty Freshmen leaders were: Ted Meyers, president; Greg Peck, vice-president: Kay Peck, secretary; Suzanne Klausing, treasurer. Larry Hancock and Phyllis Zeisloft represented us on the Student Council. We felt fortunate to be the last class allowed to have a senior trip, so we went right to work. Our first project, a paper drive proved to be a riot and a big success. In the Spring our faithful moms conducted a rummage sale to aid our finances. Our Junior-High cheerleaders, Kay Peck, Phyllis Zeisloft, and Nancy Dewar, cheered our team on for a victorious year. As Sophomores we elected Joe Keilholtz, Jim Smith, Phyllis Zeisloft, and Phyllis Tooman as class officers. Sue Coffman and Bob David were on the Student Council. To start things off socially, we welcomed the Freshmen with a reception. This year's project, a record hop, went over with a bang, both socially and financially. Well, two down and two to go! Joe proved to be such a successful president our Sophomore year that we re-elected him. His fellow officers were: Bob Robinson, vice-president; Connie Rader, secretary; Nancy Heg, treasurer. Sue Coffman and Mike Mull were our Student Council members. We were all glad when our class rings had arrived. We all felt like good salesmen when we reached our goal on the magazine drive. Our finances had increased greatly. We deeply appreciated Mrs. Hartley for her guidance and patience during the rehearsals of our first play Mother is a Freshman. Although it was written as a light comedy, its results were even more hilarious. What fun it was! Then there was the Prom. Our theme was South Pacific. We all joined in on the decorating. It was all simply fabulous. When cheerleader tryouts for next year were held, Kay Peck came through with her fourth straight year of cheerleading. This was it. We could now be called Seniors. Ted Meyers and Nancy Heg were chosen as co-presidents. Connie Rader was chosen secretary and Patti Moorman, treasurer. Before we knew it, Christmas card sales were upon us. The moments that we had waited so long for: our senior class play, the Junior-Senior Prom, the class trip, and most of all the day when we were handed our diplomas more than fulfilled our great anticipations. How we remember and cherish the many memories, teachers (especially Mr. Hartman,) friends, and days at Leipsic High. CLASS MOTTO; The door to success is labeled push.
