IN MEMORY OF EDWARD J. BOULE As Leicester High assistant principal from 1949 to 1975, Mr. Edward J. Boule truly showed students the way, the truth, and the life. He was a good and decent man, so compassionate, kind, and understanding. His dealings with students were always from the heart. As Fr. George Bissonette, A.A., said in his eulogy July 17, 1975, the day of Mr. Boule’s funeral, “Ed was so sincere that he couldn’t stand the hint of hypocrisy in anyone.” He leveled with students. They respected him for it and consequently they admired him. Almost three decades of Leicester High students were beneficiaries of the sound counsel and constructive discipline that he imparted in such a quiet way and dignified manner. Mr. Boule recognized high school for what it truly is: The most formative four-year period in the precious life of a youngster. It’s a rich legacy that he has left behind for the youth of Leicester. Dedication Have you ever had the feeling that someone was in back of you, always watching with a careful eye and following at a distance, but never so far as to be out of speaking range? The Class of’76 has been blessed with such a someone. As a matter of fact, that someone has been watching and following, occasionally whispering a few words of advice, but generally letting us test our own ground, for the past 4 years. In those 4 years we’ve grown together, and it is in that growth that we can see that someone, and realize with greater clarity than ever before, his true meaning to our class. This someone has developed in us, as a class, an independent and self-disciplined spirit by means of his quiet, yet firm guidance. He has also instilled in us the ability to assume increased responsibility for our own actions and the pride of self accomplishment attained when these actions prove to be the correct ones. It is for all these things and many more that we dedicate our yearbook to Mr. George Albro, the Class of’76’s special SOMEONE.
