In Memory of Dorothea Power—Our Sunshine Girl I love the warm fingers of the sun to touch me in the morning, and the sparkling, chilling Mohawk waters to freshen and delight my spirit. I love the cool, green forest floor and the fragrance of wild flowers whose essence fills the air. I love to ponder gently melodies as Joni serenades my soul, and the Poet captivates my being as I share his secret answers. I love to see, to hear, to touch, to smell every wonder of creation; thank God for each solitary hour, each precious day, that I breathe, I love, I discover. 1 wonder why the day did come that stilled the spring bird ' s song; my vibrant life was deathly silenced, smothering all it ever touched. I wish I could say Please don ' t cry peace surrounds me here; someday you ' ll come to join me to touch God ' s loving hand.
