The merry mixups and laughable love affairs encountered by the younger members of the family were comical to see. HS1ats'N crude method of love was ridiculed by Buddy and Betty who enjoyed making him and Aunt Bella as miserable as possible. Other romances consisted of Tony and Barbara, Stew and Julie, and Dick and Sally. All in all the play was full of springtime, bright light, and sappy-happy people. X 35

SENIOR PLAY 1 x V 1. it '- Who said, Ha play is all work and no playn? When the Seniors of Lehman presented Booth Tarkington'sNSEVENTEENn, they came out on top with two night performances and an afternoon matinee. There were some mishaps which proved rather discourag- ing to Mr. Ikeler, our di- rector, and might have been fatal to the play. Nearly all the cast contracted the flu within the two weeks before the performance, but when the curtain rose on the first act, the cast was all on deck, The plot centered around a young man of seventeen, Willie Baxter. Heckled by a younger sister, ndesperatelyu in Hloven with a newcomer to town, restrained by an unsym- pathetic father, Willie fought his way through the trials and tribulations of a seventeen- year-old. Laughs and groans flowed his way from the aud- ience. Many times you could hear the comment, uIsn't that just like our boy, father?N THE CAST Willie Baxter--William Johnson Mr. Baxter ------ H arold Cornell Mrs. Baxter ---- - ----- Ethel Ida Jane Baxter---Bertha Dribelbis Lola Pratt ---------- Ann Husted May Parcher ---- Marie Rebennack Mr. Parcher ------ Elmer Swelgin Johnnie Watson---Joe Yablonski Joe Bullett-Walter Chamberlain George Crooper ----- Dayton Long Wallis Banks ------ William Park Genesis --------- William Abbott Ethel Boke ---- Katherine Kocher Mary Brooks ----- Beruadine Skok
