Seniors Review Four Years at L.H.S Fred Wolf, president: Linda Feiman. secretary; Sherri McElwain, vice president; Nancy Good, treasurer, lead the graduating class of 1963. Our excited freshman class 165 strong entered Lehman for the first time in the fall of 1959. To lead our class, we elected Randy Hilscher, presi- dent; Bob Tuckey, vice-president; Emily Albu, secretary; and Ingrid Ostergard, treasurer. Our class readily caught that contagious Lehman spirit and displayed it throughout the year as we con- tributed to the cheering section at games, and supported the other school activities. Our first year at Lehman was crammed with new kinds of fun, work, and experiences. As sophomores we chose Bob Shealor, presi- dent; Sandy Vaprin, vice-president; Judy Willis, secretary; and Fern Sperling, treasurer. With traditional school spirit, we sophomores did our share by selling Booster Club tickets and by contributing to the Christmas Project, thus helping to send Lehman over the set goals in both drives. We also gained in “yell-ability” that year. In fact, we could almost out-yell the seniors in the victory cheer at pep assemblies! What? Juniors so soon? It was hard to believe, wasn’t it? We had reached the half-way point in our high school careers. Our class officers that fad-filled year were president, Bob Paul; vice- president, Pat Stanceu; secretary, Gretchen Van Almen; and treasurer, Linda Feiman. A new fad to hit Lehman our junior year lent ’ a rare hospital atmosphere to our building, for that was the era of the Ben Casey blouses. Many “medical minded” Eskies could be seen in the halls and in classrooms sporting their surgical- looking shirts. Another fad to make its formal appearance in Lehman was the twist. That hip- swinging dance, guaranteed to “twist” the sacro- iliac, gained rapid popularity with Lehmanites. However, our junior year was not only one of fun, fads, and homework, but also a time when we began making decisions concerning careers and colleges. Our senior year at Lehman just seemed to fly! Before we knew it, college boards were upon us. We had occupied for the last time that fall, the coveted front row seats at football games and had attended our last football pep assembly. We watched with a little sentiment, perhaps, our foot- ball queen Pat Stanceu and her court being pre- sented at the homecoming game. Then, amid the flurry of school activities and basketball season, our letters notifying us of our acceptance to col- leges began to arrive. Fred Wolf, Sherrie Mc- Elwain, Linda Feiman, and Nancy Good as presi- dent, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer re- spectively guided us through the all-important senior activities. Spring of 1963 seemed to arrive quickly and with it came the Junior-Senior Prom. Our senior year ended soon after with Class Day, Baccalau- reate, and finally, Commencement. 95 KAREN LEE ADELMAN 237 Thirty-fifth St., N.W. Classical DAVID ARE 1734 Oberlin Ct., N.W.
