1960 C.LASS OFFICERS—Tony May, vice-president; Toni Blake, secretary; Dave Thomas, treas- urer; John Paterson, president. SENIOR REVERIES Confusion and crowded stairways are memories of our first year of high school. Although few of us were taken in by elevator tickets, many of us were ir- retrievably lost when it came to finding where our classrooms were. We green Frosh” were soon noted for several things: the largest number on the honor roll, excellence in speech work, and athletic prowess. The Junior Booster Club was initiated with a tre- mendous sale of booster tickets. Thus began the memoirs of our class. In the next chapter of our high school lives, we noticed a marked emptiness in the auditorium seats and not-so-crowded hallways. Red and Gray Day, car wash fun, Mr. Quaker, April Love, a winning soccer team, and Smilin' Through” are just a few of the events that made our second year exciting to us. Upperclassmen at last! Will we ever forget the aromas from the chemistry lab? or the poster parties? semester exams? or the innovation of boy and girl cheerleaders? We found out how enchanting Prom week-end really was! One of the highlights of the year was our victorious basketball team and our win over McKinley. What chaos! The snake dance and gala assembly were terrific! This seemed to have been a year of “firsts —the beginning of the K.L.B. project, Science Fair, National Honor recognition assembly, accelerated classes, and book club. Seven of us were tapped for membership in National Honor. Oh yes, we remember it well! The last chapter is now completed. It seems almost impossible that time could fly so fast. But here it is! Those hectic days of filling out college applications, and taking college boards! Looking back, we had an outstanding year, accentuated by the most successful Christmas project. Climaxing the football season was our triumphant defeat of Timken while our basket- ball team overpowered McKinley for the second straight year. The color and pageantry of feudal day provided the setting for the tapping of the 1960 Foot ball Queen, Peg Hulit. Marylyn Krider was selectee as our senior attendant, and these two misses dm reigned at the annual Pigskin Prom. Such othe memorable events as the Junior-Senior party, “Cupid Capers,” and our final Hing— the Prom—will always tt main nostalgic to us. As we receive our diplomas at realize that these high school days are ended, we lod toward to the future and hope that we may have Id an imprint of value on Lehman’s history. Reverii are made of these!
