FOREWORD Because of our location, Lehmanites have coine to be known as “Hilltoppers.” With this in mind, we would like to take a typical “Hilltopper” and trace his high school life as he progresses through these four years. Whether he be a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, he has the same paths to tread, the same obstacles to over- come, and the same decisions to meet as any other student would have. Also, as he is growing physically and mentally, he has a chance to advance himself in the fields of scholarship, athletics, and activ- ities; thus, he prepares himself to make a life while he prepares to make a living. As we follow this ascension, step by step, we will ob- serve him as he passes through his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes where he develops scholastically, through the various activities and sports where he expands his interests, and through the various experiences of living with his fellow men where he creates his personality. Finally, he will emerge as a high school graduate, ready to face tomorrow, prepared to meet it as a man. 2

At these points in his journey, he receives a help- ing hand from the faculty. Having been guided safely past these difficulties with the teachers’ aid, he continues, wiser and better able to make a safe and successful climb. He now knows how to meet this type of obstacle again and how to over- come it armed with his own knowledge and the teacher’s invaluable instruction. - Pfk-v- . . ' V.
