Class Officers: Phil Danneniiller, president; Karen Stem, vice president; Marria Christian, secretary; Toni Blake, treasurer. FRESHMEN The freshman class of 1956-1957 have proved through their many accomplishments that they will be a hard working class for the next three years. The group were guided by their capable officers Phil Danneniiller, president; Karen Stein, vice president; Marcia Christian, secretary; and Toni Blake, treasurer. Through popular vote pretty, perky Peggy llulit was elected as the attendant to the Football Queen. The freshmen were quite active in the National Forensic League this year. An unusual event took place this year when Nick Margaritakis was received into A ('appella Choir. He was the only freshman participating. Also many freshman made the grade in dramatics. Appearing in January Thaw” last fall were Mary Ann Rose and Karen Stein. Pam Croasdaile, Joellyn Feiman, Peggy llulit, Lenore Talansky, and Lois Felder appeared in “Father Knows Best,” the spring play. Athletic participation has not been neglected by these ambitious freshmen. Dick Bowman was the only freshman who played on both the varsity basketball and football teams; however their freshman teams were big. Jack Ivan, Bill Deames, Ted Richards, Dave Bailey, Charles McGill, Bob Simpson, John Paterson, John Allensworth, Jim Tedrick, Steve Allman, Dick Mitchell, and Bill Minor made up this freshman basketball team. Those on the football team were Hal Jones, Virgil Smith, Jack Ivan, Jim Redrick, Ted Tichards, Bob Simpson, Clyde Clark, Dick Benedict, Bill Deames, Tony May, Dave Banks, Bill Tarr, Jim Parr, Larry Russell, Gary Chrien, Ed Fletcher, Larry Gatrell, Marchall Crawford, Steve Klein, Larry Mottice, Tom Burrell, Dick Mitchell.
