The Pride Of Lehman The hard-working Marching Cavaliers have become a symbol of g Lehman pride. Led on the field by Field Commander Beth Borders, the Marching Cavaliers performed at all Lehman football games. But before school began, the band spent a busy but fun-filled week at band camp at St. Francis College, Ft. Wayne, Ind., a new locations for the camp, and made four August appearances including a first place award performance at Jackson Center Community Days. The Marching Cavaliers entered five band contests - Versailles, Piqua, Tipp City, Marion Local and New Bremen. They earned Excellent illl ratings at all events. Beth Borders took second place in drum major competition at New C Bremen. The flag corp and majorettes also took second place. The band and the majorettes took a second place at Piqua. A. Parental involvement is one key to the band's success. Marching 48 musicians, 14 flags, 4 majorettes and a drum major, the Marching Cavaliers performed Rock On with kids at Springfield Central CathoIic's elementary band program. The parents of the Lehman students formed cheering sections at the Marion Local and New Bremen contests waving balloons and signs. They served cookies and punch after the contests.
