T Football 1985 Lehman football 1985 was a year of struggle. After coming off a championship year in 1984, the Cavaliers wanted to repeat the feat. A pre-season scrimmage against Sidney showed great Cavalier strength. The promise of a great season remained after an opening victory over Graham. After that, the power of the schedule shattered Cavalier hopes. The teams whom the Cavs had defeated in 1984 were strong and waited with vigor to defeat the Cavaliers. They finished the season 1-9. The Pride Of Lehman The hard-working Marching Cavaliers have become a symbol of g Lehman pride. Led on the field by Field Commander Beth Borders, the Marching Cavaliers performed at all Lehman football games. But before school began, the band spent a busy but fun-filled week at band camp at St. Francis College, Ft. Wayne, Ind., a new locations for the camp, and made four August appearances including a first place award performance at Jackson Center Community Days. The Marching Cavaliers entered five band contests - Versailles, Piqua, Tipp City, Marion Local and New Bremen. They earned Excellent illl ratings at all events. Beth Borders took second place in drum major competition at New C Bremen. The flag corp and majorettes also took second place. The band and the majorettes took a second place at Piqua. A. The Lehman Marching Band is part of two communities - Sidney and Piqua. Here the band play their stuff along Piqua's main street. D. Led by Field Commander Beth Borders, the Marching Cavaliers made their 1985 debut at Piqua in late-August.
