The Lehman Marching Cavaliers The 1985-86 Lehman High School Marching Cavaliers performed at every football game, they entered five contests and performed at four events before school opened in late-August. Directed by Elaine Scheweller and led on the field by Drum Major Beth Borders, the band had 48 musicians, 14 flags and 4 majorettes. The group earned Excellent ratings in each of the five contests they entered. But band members had some fun, too. They opened a new band camp near Ft. Wayne, lnd.g they performed Bock On with kids from Springfield Central Catholic elementary band program. They attended Mass together after their contest in New Bremen. They honored their seniors at a Mass, with locker decorations and with boxes filled with candies and cookies and with signs celebrating the seniors' contributions to the band. Jerri Deitering, senior trumpet player and Piqua vice-president, was elected Lehman High School Homecoming Queen, 1985-86. 1985-86: Flag Corps: Row one tl-rj: Amy Beeman, Jeanette Link.
