Senlor Hlstory Webster s definition of Liberty is regus tered as lt is that space in which one is permitted to pass without restraint and be yond which he may not lawfully venture This virtue of a democratic nation has numer ous name sake synonyms, moreover, the one that deals mainly with our graduating class is that, it affords to a rational mind to choose and decide on what bridge of life it deems itself able to approach Four flights down we considered our respective ceeded with the schedule Our merits have arranged us in scholarly order now gowned, and with outstretched palms we await our Commencement In single file, as dazzled and awed freshmen, we toured Lehlghton High Schools Hall of Fame We minimized our extra curricular activities centering all interests on the selection of the maternal class flower, the white rose the motto, There is a goal and we shall reach it and the class colors, blue and silver. The mummer parade officials bestowed on us the award as Green Freshmen for the largest group represented. Hand in hand with Mr. Author Webb biological instructor as sophomores we drew in all the sights of the Museum of Natural History and the Bronx Zoological Gardens. This excursion followed the annual Halloween parade in which dressed Leni Indians, we felt the praise for the most original group present. Twenty-five per cent of our classmen dribbled the basketball on the home court for interclass games. ln both their sophomore and iunior years the girls basketball team captured second position right at the seniors heels. As sophomores the boys held the reigns for the interclass basketoall crown. Laurels fell the seniors way for, in their concluding year, first place filled the girls team schedule, while the male squad had the copyright on the third level. Likened to the blooming white rose, the class flower we broadened our horescope on life by indulging in the numerous club advantages set aside for the lunlor year Our roots thrived in the respective yearbook club press club, and other mechanical and musical groups sponsored by a hobby interested faculty Broadways dramatic ability was a phantom back when Mr George Metzlers Little Miss Fortune cast took their second curtain call Proceeds lumor candy stand provided half of the assets necessary to circulate a successfully maneuvered yearbook Several times during the stay at our Alma Mater, all out services were request ed from us for interclass as well as community affairs The name of any 42 graduate has a team of degrees for energetic campaign mg behind his or her name Our canvassing interests have born unusual fruits as In a specific instant, during the local uniform drive. Medical and human-interest pleas have also accepted our benefits, while at present many civil defense branches quarter lists with this years graduates as members. With the international affairs in their present state the 42 classmen have long since stored their schoolroom pranks and will graduate a more mature and worldly group. Our last stage production in the L. H. S.s Little Theatre limelighted play entitled, College Daze . As a follow-up from former years we provided the prize-winning patriotic themes in bothof the annual Legion parades. Unlike our undergraduates and preceeding alumna, in this crisis well not be considered among the bystanders. For our T400 fingers will swcll th ranks of every defense effort. As res..rved freshmen we selected our motto but as zealous seniors we see that goal in a photo-finish with victory.
