i l ii r SENIGR CLASS HISTQRY The crew of our good ship, Class of '3l',, had been carefully prepared for their four-year High School voyage in the grade schools of Lehighton and vicinity. They felt themselves fully equipped and so they launched the Ship with a good organization under faculty guidance. The first or Fresh- man league was sailed somewhat timorously but nevertheless quite success- fully as -proven by our accomplishments. XYe won second prize in thc annual Hallowe'en Parade. We also won the victor's crown in the Sopho- more-Freshman football game. During our Sophomore year we continued to sail ever forward. XVe again won the Soph-Frosh football game and gave several men to the Var- sity squad. Basketball, baseball, and track came in their order and we did Well in all these sports. Socially we entered the Halloween Parade and enjoyed a Halloween Party. Everyone attended these functions and went away pleased. We returned to T.. H. S. our Junior year as pirates and in that capacity put out our piratic Year Book, Gachtin Bambil, successfully. The splendid rendition of three one-act plays was made possible by the co-operation of the whole class. In all the athletic sports we were represented by boys who put their whole heart into the game and came out successful if not always victorious. Our Junior year was well spent and the class earned the com- mendation, Well done. We started on the last league of our journey as Seniors, with 103 mem- bers. VVe tried hard to live up to and surpass the standards set by the other classes. Qur class furnished nine of the men on the Varsity football team. five on the basketball team and we were well represented on the other teams. The whole crew fell to and made the class play, To the Ladies , a huge success. All other class projects were ended successfully and the crew made ready for the Commencement Exercises. After these pleasant but saddening services were over the class was broken up and each member went out to seek a goal and thereby be worthy of his Alma Mater. The class is and ever will be grateful to our esteemed faculty who always extended a helping hand in time of need to remove obstacles and make our voyage pleasant and successful. Each member of the crew was admonished to take our motto and make it a personal one. always remembering that- If we rest, we rustn. -F. P. B. '31 Page twenty-one
