10 FRESHMEN The 1983 freshman class of Leesville High School has had a tremendous year. The class, which numbers 332 students, has been involved in numerous school activities, and they have been well represented in contests. At the beginning of the school year, class officers were elected. Those who were elected included the following: Dennis Mitchell, president; Beverly Goins, vice-president; Virginia Freshley, treasurer; Brenda Weaver, secretary; Lynde Holsomback, reporter; and Theresa Magee, sergeant-at-arms. Some of the freshmen won prestigious individual honors. Kim Dowden was named Vernon Parish Rodeo Queen. Theresa Magee was elected by the class to be the freshman maid at homecoming. Several students took the PSAT and SAT and they did very well on these tests. Of course, John Gass had the highest score in the freshman class, which was also the highest score in the entire school.
