10PH0M0RE5 The sophomore class elected their officers at the beginning of the year which include: president — Jennifer Ames; vice-president — Marci McRae; secretary — Suzette Kuhlow; treasurer — Jennifer Schwartz; reporter — Candy Belton; and sgt.-at- arms — Dick Fetting. The class received several individual honors which include: Junior Academy of Science presenta- tions, letterman in football, basketball, golf and baseball and numerous other awards. Jason Best, Julie Goins, Suzette Kuhlow, and Russell Burleson presented their papers at Junior Academy. Included in the Homecoming events was the electing of maid Vanessa Smith. People such as Tom Crosby, Jerry Howard, Melissa Smith, Ned Tilley and Dicky Fetting were named first lettermen in their respective sports. Amy Carper represented the sophomores as Student Council Recording Secretary. Twenty-two of the sophomores were on the Principal's List.

10 FRESHMEN The 1983 freshman class of Leesville High School has had a tremendous year. The class, which numbers 332 students, has been involved in numerous school activities, and they have been well represented in contests. At the beginning of the school year, class officers were elected. Those who were elected included the following: Dennis Mitchell, president; Beverly Goins, vice-president; Virginia Freshley, treasurer; Brenda Weaver, secretary; Lynde Holsomback, reporter; and Theresa Magee, sergeant-at-arms. Some of the freshmen won prestigious individual honors. Kim Dowden was named Vernon Parish Rodeo Queen. Theresa Magee was elected by the class to be the freshman maid at homecoming. Several students took the PSAT and SAT and they did very well on these tests. Of course, John Gass had the highest score in the freshman class, which was also the highest score in the entire school.
