It would seem that the brief congratulations I have written for the Yearbook over the past few years are concerned more and more with the graduating seniors rather than the Yearbook itself. While I am aware of and deeply appreciate the dedication and hard work by the Year- book staff and sponsor which go into the preparation and publication of the Yearbook each year, I still believe that my comments must necessarily be oriented to our graduating seniors since it is they who “set the pace” for the Yearbook as well as all other aspects of life at Lees- ville High School. The graduating seniors of the Class of 1981 caused us to placed over the main entrance to LHS a sign which reads “Through these doors passes a unique student body; the finest, proud- est and most spirited in the State of Louisiana. How could one better describe the Class of 1981 ? They truly have given of themselves for others and for the betterment of their school and their community. As a class and as individuals, they have reinforced those traditions which have made Leesville High School the best AAA school in Louisiana and they have established standards of excellence for classes who follow to emulate. The Class of 1981 exemplifies Lees- ville’s Pride. The faculty and staff join me in thanking the Seniors of 1981 for being what they have been and in restating our faith in what we know they will become.

 The school year of 1980-81 is now a part of the past. But because its memory has been so carefully preserved in the pages of this yearbook, the past days, weeks, and months will remain alive and vital to us throughout the years to come. To the year- book staff and faculty adviser, we are deeply grateful, for they have presented us with a permanent record of important goals and achievements during this time in our lives. C.
