It is with extreme pleasure that the 1979-1980 yearbook staff dedicates this year’s edition to: Mr. Gordy Holt A man who has so greatly influenced the lives of his students. He has on numerous occasions, gone beyond the line of duty in his work. As an educator, Mr. Holt dared to encourage bright ideas and new thought proc- esses with his students. He saw enough in his pupils to expect from them the very best. He helped each individual student to believe more in themselves, and to realize their potential to its very fullest. The world outside of high school poses many fears in the teenage mind. Mr. Holt helped prepare his students for their futures. He has exemplified patience, wisdom, and extreme concern. As a man, Mr. Holt laughed with us, shared and listened to us. He has sacrificed so very much of himself and yet, he asks so very little for his behalf. All his efforts were for either the betterment of the students, faculty or school. It is with sincere gratitude that we salute Mr. Gordie Holt. We, at Leesville High School, will forever remember this fine, upstanding man. Dedication 3
