Dr. H. Lynn Russell LHS Principal A school is somewhat more than just a build- ing where classes are held throughout the week. Any school; large or small, great or sad, is nothing more than a mirror image of the stu- dents and faculty who contribute to its worth. A senior class is expected to provide leader- ship and an example for others to emulate. The Seniors of 1978 did. Underclassman are expected to contribute their measure of accomplishments, energy, and pride. This they did. A faculty is required to help, encour- age and guide each student, class and activity. This they did. The Seniors of 1978 and many others will not be with us when this yearbook is dedicated and distributed. However, for days and years to come this book will bring back memories. As individuals who made LHS more than just a building, many will remark, I attended the best AAA school in Louisiana.” This they did. Our Leaders 15
