Harmony Helps L.H.8. Change Leaders Our Principal Mr. Joe Wec+erchil It is a very distinct privilege to congratulate the sponsors and staff of the 1966 WAMPUS CAT for this contribution to the life and activities of another school year at L.H.S. The yearbook formally records the vivid congeniality and understanding that the student body and faculty exemplify. Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines Harmony as: ‘‘Just adaptation of parts to each other; agreement between the parts of a design or composition giving unity of effect...” As you study your yearbook you will note these elements of Harmony as they have existed in Wampus Cat Land. Let’s hope that this is just a beginning for all of us with the tasks, trials and challenges that lie ahead. Best Wishes to the student body who has made possible the true picture of Leesville High School. Mr. Joe Parker, former principal of Leesville High School, resigned at mid-semester to work on his Doctor- ate of Psychology at L.S.U. He served as principal of Leesville High for the past four and a half years. 8

High Through the Help of the Community Leesville High students pose on the steps of the Courthouse. Through law enforcement and civic- minded citizens harmony reigns in our community. The students play a vital role in making our city a better place to live. Our television system was displayed at the Louis- iana State Fair. This is another example of how har- mony exists between the school, community and state. Many LHS students use the parish library for their school work. Here some Leesville High students use the educational facilities available to the public.

Among his duties are supervising the lunch room, assisting with the operation of the school, coaching the football team, and head coach of our track team. Guidance Counselor, Mr. Jack Bostwick, advises LHS students as to what curriculum to follow, scholarships available, and in- forms the student of his abilities and needs. Helping the student with moral, social, and spiritual problems is a large part of Mr. Bost- wick's work. Mr. Bostwick Just ask Mrs. Moss. seems to ring a familiar bell. Mrs. Racheal Moss, secretary, sees nearly every student at LHS each day. Besides doing all the secretarial work in the office, she signs tardy slips, collects money for various things, finds students for teachers and other students, sometimes runs the pub- lic address system, and generally has her hands full.
