“
t Hail to Thee, Leesville High, Our Alma Mater It's the school that we’ve loved all our lives. As the years roll around and the old walls resound With the voices of those who have gone, We think now and ever will of the old School on the hill, And the Dear Friends that always are the best. Hail to youth passing by, through the halls of Leesville High Alma Mater, sing Hail, hail to Thee.” Because of her graciousness and understand- ing through the years, the 1961 staff dedi- cates with deep affection and admiration this yearbook to . . . , MRS. GEORGE CRAF (J FOREWORD Here is your yearbook! You lived it! You made it! For almost a year we have had it and now it is yours. This record of the activities of 1960- 61 is a memorial that we will always treasure. On behalf of the yearbook staff I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the co-operation given us by each faculty member and stu- dent. We hope that you will enjoy the 1961 Wampus Cat as much as we have enjoyed publishing it. The Wampus Cat Staff Dottle Hernandez, Editor ANNUAL STAFF VICKI WORD Business Manager CAROLYN PYNES Literary Editor TERRY GOODWIN Feature Editor JODY WESTMORELAND Sports Editor CHARLES WILSON Artist WAYNE HARVEY Photographer MRS. EDDIE WATSON Sponsor MRS. GEORGE WEEGO Sponsor ADMINISTRATION SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE This yearbook presents many of the activities of the school, in a very interesting and informative way. It records people and events not merely in terms of the observable in the classroom and at recreation, but it also reveals much of the deeper meaning that high school education and training can have in the lives of boys and girls. It is my opinion that this publication will do a great deal to build a good esprit de corps binding together not only the student body and school per- sonnel, but the community as well. Congratulations for having achieved many worthwhile accomplish- ments as reflected in this annual. Sincerely, Ward I School Board Members MR. T. L. BERRY MR. R. D. SCHAEFER VERNON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD The 1961 Wampus Cat Annual is a creditable expression of the ideas, the abilities, and the activities of our school life. You have performed a great task well, and I am proud of your accomplishments. I sincerely hope you will remember your school days here as an enjoyable and highly profitable experience, and may I wish for you and all students the best of everything in life. MR. A. L.
