x Old familiar faces as well as new ones marked the first day of school for '79 seniors. Seniors took part in many activities in the fall such as football, cross country, and volley-ball. Seniors anx- iously anticipated Homecoming and the naming of their queen. Seniors chose Cindy Shuck as l978,s Homecoming queen with Cheryl Stroud and Sondra Mucke in her court. The class also took first place in the float competition. Fall eased its way into winter and with it came Christmas and the twenty-third annual NHS Candlelighting service. The beginning of the new year meant many things to the 779 graduating class. For some it meant early release and for others it meant spending their last semester with faces that would remain in their memories. February brought Courtwarming and once again seniors appointed a queen to re- present them. Denise Cooper was chosen queen, and Shere Sipes and Melody Rife accompanied her as attendants. Then, before seniors realized it, May had come and with it graduation cere- monies. Seniors were dismissed from classes May 17 and in just a few short days came Baccalaureate. Seniors took part in Com- mencement exercises May 22.
