For the freshman, schedule pick-ups were exciting, but for the rest, just dreary routine. School pictures and Homecoming were the majors on the list as September was kicked underway by the LSHS foot- ball squad. Students constructed floats and cheered through all of Homecoming week and saw Lori Lee crowned queen Homecoming night. Thanksgiving and Christmas provided students with a break from activities and brought one of the nation's worst winters with it. The girls basketball team clinched the state title, presenting to LSHS the best basketball record in LSHS history. Courtwarniing queen Linda Steele and her court cheered the boys' team on, but they came out of the sea- son with several losses overall. As warmer weather invaded school halls students turned toward prom activities. Prom was held at the Gold Buffet, on May 6, 1978. As the night before was Worlds of Fun Se- nior Night, the upperclassmen had a busy weekend to con- clude the year with. School was out for seniors on Thursday, May 18, 1978, and graduation followed on Tuesday May 23, 1978. High school was over for the seniors, but underclassmen longed for summer knowing they would return next fall.
