Viewed by young and old, the National Honor Society sponsored Candlelighting Service was just one of the many ways our school celebrated Christ- mas. Other holiday activities included a party in Div. II and a Christmas breakfast sponsored by Future Homemakers of America. Concerts in both buildings helped to enhance the spirit of the season for parents and students. The Christmas dance, featuring the band False Image, was an added highlight. .l Hour Warming vhauges but frrzditivus remain Courtwarming 1977 was an event marked by many changes as well as traditions. The week of festivities included a Sweetheart Day, Pin the Trojans Down Day, Support the Tigers Day, and Tigers OverAll Day in which members of the faculty and students donned their 'fBig Smithsn and Osh Koshs to demonstrate their school spirit. The week ofactivities drew to a close on Friday the eighteenth with an afternoon pep assembly featuring the introduction of the queen candidates and attendants, a rou- tine by the Tigerettes to Car Washf, the Beauty and the Beast Contest, and the announcement of the week's winners in various contests. Doug Dixon, student body president, served as the mas- ter of ceremonies at the halftime ceremony in which Miss Jill Thompson, a senior, was crowned the 1977 Courtwarm- ing Queen. The winners of the following contests were: Beauty and the BeastJ'Sonny', Rudolph and f'Cher Wil- Q . 3.1 4-'1 ff: ' .. mga.: son, hall competition-the freshman class, spirit jug-the sophomore class, Division II locker contest-Jane Griffin, and Mr. Courtwarming -Gailen Snyder.
