Superintendent's Office Hub Of R VII School District The supervision of the entire school district is the responsibility of two men, Dr. Bernard Campbell, Superintendent, and Dr. J. Underwood, Assistant Superintendent. It is up to these men to oversee the actions of the Board of Education, to make plans for the placement of students new in the community, to guide the development of the new schools, and to act as consultants in the quest for better education. The school board plays an important part in the school system. Their job is to see that quality education continues in the R-7 school district. With this responsibility they plan for the future accommodations of students in the Lee's Summit area. The school district passed a bond issue on January 23, 1973. This bond insures the completion of the new elementary school in the northeast part of the city and the completion of Pleasant Lea Junior High. lt will also appropriate funds for the conversion to the 2+2 plan at the high school.
