Betty Bell and Mildred Myers won first place for the school in the Little Six Conference and also represented the school in the Missouri State Debating League debates, winning two out of three debates. This year we attended only two tournaments. The non-decision tournament at Atchison, Kan- sas, and the decision tournament at Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. UNIOR-SOPHO ORE PL Y On November 15, 1938, the Sophomore-Junior classes presented the first mystery thriller that had been presented on our stage for :1 number of years. With timer claws reaching: from the fireplace and secret passages and a Hindu crystal gazer making: weird predictions, the audience was kept pretty much on the edge of their seats. The play was directed by Miss Mildred Epperson, and the eluded Marjorie Sue Combs, Elizabeth Hartley, Olive Jean berger, Nadie Talley, Martha Mabry, Johart Larwell, Russ Billy McCary, Richard Spencer and Dean Clendenen. e - 'A - 4 - ..
