Occasionally you come upon a person whose character is extremely unique, one who has the distinct ability to touch the lives of everyone around him. We are fortunate to have among us such a Realizing the important part he has played in our lives, the Leeder Staff proudly dedicates the 1987 Leeder to Mr. Ronnie Robbins. Whether building our vocabulary, our character, or our scenery, he has never forgotten to be our friend. His jovial personality and sympathetic ear have continuously been a comfort. As the curtain falls on this phase of our lives, and we prepare to step forth onto a larger stage, we leave with him our heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Congratulations Mr. Rob, our teacher, mentor, and friend. The Final Act As the huge curtain j opened we found I ourselves before a vast audience, each awaiting our upcoming performance. Could we give the presentation everyone expected? Maybe not, but we had to try. So with the squeeze of a hand, we began our debut. We were a little timid in our new roles at first, but as the drama progressed, we hardly even noticed that our lives were passing away. Act I was filled with new beginnings. Our days consisted of childish giggles and ABC’s, book satchels and buses, and red galoshes for splashing through the puddles. Act II was yet another new experience. We changed both physically and emotionally. The guy who once put lizards down your back asked if he could walk you to class. The braces went on and the pigtails went down. Little by little the child of yesterday was fading away. Somewhere between the first grade and the first kiss we have been transformed from naive, innocent children into confident, mature adults ready to play any part for which the world has cast us. As we begin this, The Final Act, let us reflect on the performance that we have given and remember the forgotten lines, the applause, the missed cues, and the ovations. For each of these has helped to create the unique individuals that we have become. We’ve gone through many changes together, from learning ABC’s to learning algebra. We’ve shared our secrets and our lives. The good times and the bad, the laughter and the tears, have served only to bring us closer together. Our time together is growing short. Soon each of us will be going seperate ways, moving on to bigger and better things, creating our own identies. Through these years we have grown together to make memories. We have been striving for similar goals to be better than before. We have so much to remember, and so little we want to forget. Even the bad times live vividly in our minds. Wc may not have won every game or reached every goal we set, but wc did a lot of growing. We had our time to hold fast to our childhood, never wanting to face the fact that we are growing up. We are not stereotypes; wc are all unique and special in our own way. At times we feel worn down, but we always struggle to keep a constant pace. The bonds we share will always remain with us. The memories are yours, so hold fast to them. Remember the pep rallies and the football games, the Saturday night dates, the proms, but most of all, the friendships. All good things must come to an end — it is our time to say farewell. The Class of'87 Together we’ve grown. Each day added one more picture to our book. The smiles and the tears thickened the strings linking our hearts. The past holds much meaning but. What we have now is the future. Your favorite color isn't the same as mine anymore. I don’t want to be a teacher like you. Wherever you go in life My friend. I want you to know I’m glad we had the chance to color in the same coloring book and smell the same flowers.
