Dila has a magnefic alfracfion fo everyone, We fhink she is a wonderful friend and companion, and so does Gasper. MARJORIE BREWER Margie Marqie is one of fhese people wifh a sunny disposifion. She is very easy-going: and if you don r believe me, iusf ask Loreffa or Caroline. CHARLES BROWN Charlie I-li-Y, Basketball, Foofball, Boys' Chorus. Chuck is one of fhose people fo whom you are aufomafically drawn. I-Ie has a smile and a friendly word for everyone. I-le oossesses a qreal ability for all sports and making and keep- ing friends. ALICE CARROLL Troffy Veck, Maioreffe. G, A. A. Alice is one of our perf head maioreffes who did a fine sfruifinq iob. I-ler fair complexion, dark hair, and quick smile have made her a distinguished person. We think she is quife fhe girl and we're sure you do foo. SEALIA CARTER Liffe Bit Sealia is friendly, pleasanf. and a iolly member of our class who quiefly lakes whaf is offered, and receives the bestfhings of life in abundance. Reba and Anneffe fhink she's fops, and so do we. GLORIA CAVEGLIA C-. A. A., Band, Troffy Veck. Gloria is fhe girl who is always fair fo see, whose face is filled wifh sunshine and who never wears a frown. We Ihink she's preity special and we know you will foo. Gloria always makes a wonderful appearance as a maiorefte in fhe band. WILLIAM CAVEGLIA Bill Fire Squad, Boys' Chorus. Bill is fhe wonder of wonders in fhe class of '-49. There is never a dull lime if Bill is around, fhaf's for sure. BETTY CHERNAY Liz Sub-Debs, Teen Timers. Glee Club, G. A. A. Compelenf, wifh abilify plus-fhafs Belfy. She was our busi- ness rnanaqer of the Minetas who did a wonderful iob fhis year. Befty is a dependable worker and a very likeable person.

JOSEPH BARTHA Duke Band, Boys' Chorus, Fire Squad. When Joe is in the room, something is bound to happen. It may be either good or bad, but fortunately it's mostly the former. Joe is a trumpeter in the band, and that incidentally is his hobby. Look for Jerry and Joey they're inseparable. JOHN BATIZ Bates 305, here he comesi and here comes the fun. Lilceable and genial, he hasn't an enemy in the world. Bates pals with Bill, Chuck, and Edmon. BETTY BERRY Boop Sub-Debs, Trotty Veck, Teen Timers, G. A. A. As far as Boop is concerned, Freeport and Buddy mean the same thinq-Heaven. Betty is truly a live wire: iust aslc any- one from Hyde Parlc. The minute she enters the room all gloom is disoelled and life is happy once more.

BEVERLY CLAYPOOL Bev Band, G. A. A., Basketball, Trotty Veck. Quiet did you say? She's blutted you too. She iust loves to talk, so you missed your guess. That outward air ot dignity is all assumed. Bev has a coy smile that attracts everyone to her. DEAN CLINE Butch Courtesy and Weltare Committee Chairman, Boys Chorus, Boys' Cooking Club. He and Shirley are a steady twosome. Dean attended many Chorus Festivals and is a good, earnest worker. He likes to sing, dance, and date. DOROTHY COOPER Dot National Honor Society, Sub-Debs Teen Timers, Trotty Veck. To hear her merry laugh, you know something is doing. A dependable worker and etticient, this Hyde Park miss can be tound with Boop Mai, I-Iollis, and Mary Lou. RUTHE COOPER Minetas Editor, Trotty Veick, Sub-Debs, Glee Club, G. A. A., N. H. S., Mixed Chorus. Ruthe is the envied possessor ot an inspiring dignity and great abilities, Anything she attempts to do, you can be sure it will be well done. She is apt and capable in anything. Just ask Betty, she'Il verity that statement. ANTHONY CORTILESO Tony Boys' Cooking Club, Stage Crew. Tony is the well-known soda ierk at Fiori's. His friendliness has helped him make many triends. Tony sports one ot those tlashy black and orange iackets worn by the Stage Crew. MARY LEE COY Band, Varsity, National Honor Society Secretary, Tri-Hi-Y President, G-lee Club, Mixed Chorus, Basketball Team, G. A. A., Minetas Statt, Trotty Veck, Art Club, Mary Lee is really our versatile girl-those lovely clothes she wears are all made de la Coy. Cooking-oh! Warbled in County Chorus. Her hobby is writing poetry. EDMON DAVIS Shank A great teaser and lots ot tun, that gives an excellent picture ot Shank.. His one weakness is math, which has earned him the name ot Euclid, He can be seen with Chuck, Jones, and Frank in the halls ot I.. H. S. SARAH DAVIS Sally Ushers' Club, Dramatic Club, Senior Chorus, Tri-Hi-Y, Cam- era Club, G. A, A., Sub-Debs, Trotty Veck. Sorne people are torever hunting tun, but Sally tound it long ago. A party is not complete without her loud smiles. Her hobby is developing and enlarging pictures. LEFTERI DESPOTAKIS Despo Stage Crew, Boys' Cooking Club, Hi-Y, Boys' Chorus. Letty-always there when you need him and never tar away anytime. He has a passion tor all girls, and B, A. in particu- lar. His pet is the Stage Crew, which takes him to all ends ot the building. We'll never torget this industrious 49-er, mainly because he'II never let us. JULIA DOYLE Snookie Sub-Debs. Teen Timers, Trotty Veck, G. A. A. This girl doesn't keep her personality locked up: she iust bub- bles all over with it. She wears Ed's engagement ring. Always seen with Mary Ann, Elsie, and Alice.
