Autumn AnMlNls1nATlvE SUPERINTENDENT THE way you feel within yourself influences the way you think and act. The way you think and act influences everything you do with others. The thing which no one can do as well as you is to train yourself to feel, think and act as a good American should. This is the surest way of making of yourself a good citizen. You will always be your best teacher. Americans believe that everyone has certain rights that no one can take away. A good American, while he claims these rights for himself, also allows all others the same rights. The best way to secure your own rights is to respect those of others. We hope and feel that twelve years of 'public school training has en' abled you to attain this goal of good American citizen' ship. V. R. BLAUCH. PRINCIPAL T no previous time of our country's history has there been demanded such supreme faith in our form of government. We follow with confused emotion, events determining present day history. Puppets of dictators marching relentlessly forward, treading free men under foot. Supreme conquering warrior of his' tory. Other people may prefer or docilely accept im' posed control, Americans will not. Our country, established upon democratic ideals, has developed and prospered. We believe, with good and sufficient cause, that the best form of government for us, will continue to be based upon these ideals. Our faith in Democracy remains unshaken. T. E. TENCH.

Mid the hustle and the bustle of changing classes, the class officers are elected, cheerleaders start their cheers and revive enthusiasm for their team, TROTTY VECK presses begin rolling, and our Football Squad scores its first touchdown. Ambition is at its highest point and books are religiously taken home every evening of this first season. Teachers, pupils, and friends are all one-keyed to the business of the hour. The minute which is gone can never he recalled, while the next minute is fraught with uncertainty. We are sure, not of this minute, hut of this instant only, of time. Then, while we may, say the loving word, do the kind deed, suppress the unkind remark, encourage those who are struggling hy the wziynthis minute.
