PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Dear Class of 1968, High school graduation is always a joyous, ex- citing, and sad time in the life of any boy or girl. There are always the joys of accomplishment, the excitement of uncertainty, and the sadness of farewell. | For you, as graduates of Lee M. Waid High School in the year 1968, there are special impli- cations --special challenges --special responsibil - ities, for in all probability, you, the class of 1968, will constitute one of the last grad- uating classes that Lee M. Waid High School will ever have. You must, then, without a doubt, become very special persons--persons worthy of the time, the effort, andthe concern which your teachers lavished upon you. What you do with your lives from now on is individual, depending upon your own as- pirations, capabilities and initiative. Whatever you become, or fail to become, how- ever, will reflect the extend to which Lee M. Waid School justified its having existed. For what you become, you become because you went to Lee M. Waid High School. The times are in your favor. Never before in our country's history have there been fewer limitations imposed upon what a graduating high school senior could reasonably aspire for than there are now--in 1968. a @ So, dream, if you will, of that great and perfect society which the founding fathers : envisioned. And, within the context of this dream, order your lives. Set realistic and worthy goals for yourselves and pursue these goals with a vengeance. Establish and behave according to a well-defined value system or morale code. Develop a concern 8
