TABLE OF CONTENTS 2 OPENINC DRY BY DRY DRY BY DRY BY DRl Day by Day, nothing lasts forever. When we heard these words on the radio at the annual r yearbook workshop we knew we had found the perfect theme. During these four high school S years everyone tries to plan ahead for college and later life. No matter how much we plan ahead; 3 however, we only live one day at a time. It is with this in mind we have tried to present an overall view of daily life at Lee, the first day of school until glorious graduation. We hope that this yearbook will help you remember each day spent at Lee 1986-87. ua AB AUDA8 AUQ AUD AB AUQ EDITORS LETTER Dear Generals, Perhaps the hardest thing I have ever tried to do was complete a book which will satisfy the majority of 1200 students. This yearbook is not only a collection of photographs and stories but... of memories. It is hard to realize now how important these four years will mean to you. We hope that in the future this edition of the Silver Sabre will help you remember the best times at Lee. Many thanks to Mrs. Martha Vandiver without her encouragement our deadlines would not have been met. Thanks also to our entire staff who helped each other greatly Angela, Stephanie, Brant, Susan, Scott, Mike, Johnny, Janell, Pam, Ginger, Jill, Kathy, Mari, and Tollie. Now the headaches are over and relief sets in for the deadline is met. Thank Goodness!! So it really is the first day of school? Oh well, I needed a new alarm clock anyway! This is probably a scene many students ex- perienced on Tuesday September 2. Incorrect schedules had many people standing in line to make changes. Several new students were in attendance who were involved with the magnet program. Other problems of the day included highly overcrowded lunches and an irregular class schedule. Though no one totally enjoyed be- ing at school the majority of people were glad to be back. Freshman got a new taste of high school. Sophomores and (uniors began another year toward their goal. Seniors finally realized this was their last year at Lee. At 3:10 all the problems of the day seemed small and everyone thought of it as just one out of 175 days survived. 1.
