Lee Shutout by High-Ranked Johnson In this game, Lee suffered a shutout by the third ranked Johnson Jaguars. Lee’s defense held the Jags tight until late in the first quarter when the Generals took a big penalty which gave Johnson the ball at Lee's 45 yardline. This led to a Jag touchdown to give them a 7-0 lead. Lee drove from their 20 to the Johnson 4, but were stopped by a powerful defense in the second quarter. On the Jaguar’s next possession, they increased their lead to 13-0 over Lee. They scored again in the third quarter for a score of 19-0. Volunteers Rain on Lee In First Game The Generals took a big loss in their first season game to Jeff Davis in Montgomery. As many teams, Lee made several crucial mistakes early in the first half of their season opener. Late in the first quarter, the Volunteers took a 7-0 lead after a fumble on a Lee punt. With 3 seconds left in the first quarter, Jeff Davis scored again after another General fumble, increasing their points to 14-0. Late in the first half Lee drove Vol's 3-yardline but was kept out of the end zone by one inch. In the second half it rained hard, shut- ting down the offenses of both teams. Right The Football Team shows respect for Lee 26 Sports The Generals were defeated by the Tuscaloosa Central Falcons at Bryant- Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa by a score of 41-18. At the end of the first half the Generals were losing 27-0. Finally, in the second half. Lee scored with the passing of Dave Ellison. Then Dave Ellison and Randy Ricketts connected on their second play of the fourth quarter to score again. In the end, Dave Ellison and John Jackson scored again to end the game 41-18.
