1979 Key Club Sweetheart Fitty-eighl girls gathered together for the 15th Annual Key Club Beauty Walk The air was filled with excitement and nervousness The Curtain opened with the girls smiling and sing- ing Another Opening. Another Show . Each girl was individually introduced following her entrance beneath a Valentine heart At this time, three judges viewed them to rate them on poise, grace and other categories set by the rules During intermission the choral department presented hit tunes from broadway shows, while the girls nervously awaited the announcement of the top twenty beauties Then applause overcame the silence when the following girls were chosen Seniors. Kelly Albright. Diane Booker. Melynda Cleveland. Diane Corbett. Sonja Duncan. Patty Harrell. Kriste Kruise. Cmdy Powell. Brenda Smith. Mona Sparkman, Margaret Strawn and Jacque- line Watkins. Juniors; Lmda Kennamer, Cynthia Merritt. Jayne Owen, and Cheryl Toney Sophomores; Ellen Furio. Mary Ann Owen. Seniors Eric Gronquist and Rene Morgan Ren6 Morgan was elected by her Sen- ior Class as being the most outstanding girl — Miss Lee High School, and she truly deserves this notable title. She has contributed in various ways to Lee. Ren6 served as Sgt.-at-arms during her Sopho- more, Junior and Senior years. Also, Rene was a participant on the softball team, a manager of girls' basketball, and an active member of the French Club. She was honored by being elected Vice- President of Honor Society, January's Citizen of the Month, and Class Favorite. Each of these attributes by Ren6 Morgan made her very worthy of the distinguished title bestowed upon her. Features
