Homecoming 1978-79 Homecoming, this year was one of beauty and celebra- tion. Excitement was obvious from the beginning. Floats had to be built, maids had to be elected, dance prepara- tions were made and half-time shows were planned and put into action. All of these activities climaxed when Stu- dent Council President, Jacquie Blessing, was crowned 1978-79 Homecoming Queen and the Generals prevailed with a 28-14 massacre of the Coffee Yellowjackets on September 28, 1978. The dance, the night after the game enabled couples to enjoy it without rush. Reminiscing” was the chosen theme and seemed appropriate for the occasion. Almost 450 couples danced to the music of Luv-n-Haight. Stu- dent Council Secretary Julie Smith, commented, “Home- coming had its complications, but with all the time and effort put into it, it was a huge success.” Homecoming 78-79 will remain in the minds of all who attended as a night to remember.
