U., Conn. College, N.Y.U., G.W.U., U. Va. B.A. Social Studies The Social Studies Department started the year off with a bang when the government classes staged mock county elections. Candi¬ dates for the offices who spoke at Lee were amazed at the knowledge of county politics which was shown by the students ' questions. A new innovation this year was a program of team-teaching. Started among the social studies teachers to help the students gain as much as possible from their course, it has been very successful. Throughout the year standard textbooks were supplemented by various speakers and field trips, giving realism to the printed word. The Social Studies Department plays a large role in preparing the students of Lee for their future responsibilities as citizens of the United States. 24
