'ill N lass i tor 'l'he tnttsic drifts in through the flapping door ol tlte gypsy fortune teller's tent. ln the tniddle of the tent sits a weird- looking, withered old woman peering in the crystal ball on the table before her. liven now an image is being fortned in the cloudy glow of the ball. 'l'he old gypsy leans forward and cackles with glee. The crystal ball, with its magical powers, has cut through the curtains of time to bring back former years. lVhy, look! lt's I.ee High School in the year HMS, and theres ottr class when we were freshtnen. Remember who the class ollieers were that year? Robert 'l'immer was the president. Don Opdendyk was vice-president, l.aVerne DeYoung was secretary and Marian Nlolenkamp was the treasurer. See what image is being formed in the crystal ball now. lt's the class party we had that year, and there's Mr. Morrison, our class advisor, acting as chaperon. 'l'here's the wltole gang of us playing wink-um. We certainly had fun that night. Now the light fades from the ball and the tent is in a deep darkness. Soon another image is formed in the ball. lt is our class again, bttt now we are not those feeble beginners: we are walking through the halls of Lee with the confidence of the experienced. YVC are now sophomores. There are class oflicers seated around a table with the class advisor, Mr. Morrison. The president, Peter 'l'homs, vice- president, Alvin Bytwork. secretary. Betty Mclirath, and the treasurer, Norman Thoms, are discussing the successful Christ- mas party which was held in the gynt. This image fades and the next picture before us is that of the party we had the following spring. 'l'he gym is decorated with brightly colored balloons: everyone is having a wonderful time. Darkness envelops the lctlt and the old gypsy tntttnbles a few words to make the next image fortn in the globe. lt is a group of scurrying people going from door to door selling magazine subscriptions. Yet, it is our class and we haxe now reached the status of juniors. ln ottr junior year we organized early and these people were elected to lead us: Gordon Gort, presidentg jack Wright, vice- presidentg Alvin liytwork. secretary: and Robert limtner, treas urer. 'l'he magazine sale we had that year was a huge success aml so was the potluck dinner we had to celebrate the close of the campaign. N C'
