On September 18, our first Junior Class meet- ing was held and the following officers were elected: president, William Salinettig vice presi- dent, Mark Withers, secretary, Jane Powers, and treasurer, Basil Wadsworth. Presiding at this meet- ing was Mrs. Fanning, our class advisor. Later that month our president appointed a class ring committee who selected the Josten Company for our orders. After what seemed an endless length of time our class rings arrived. The highlighted event of the year, our Junior Prom, was a great success. We truly thank all those who made it possible. It is with regret that we leave behind our Junior Year looking forward to September when we will all be Seniors. JANE POWERS, Secretary U. WOR CLASS On September 19 we returned to Room I and our old tamiilar desks of Freshman days to hold a meeting tor the election of class officers. How important we felt to be in our second year at Lee High. Under the guidance ot Mrs. Fanning our class was honored to present the assembly, Christmas Around the World. Danny Hunter led Lee in scoring with T6 points. Pete Cerruti and Louie Airoldi had 15. This game proved to be the Wildcats' best effort of the season. We then defeated Chester, 86-47, as the first five score in the double figure bracket. Williams rallied to beat us 58-49 in a foul-infested battle. With better luck in our last two games we defeated Lenox and Mt. Everett 69-26 and 6l-47 respectively. Lee High ended in third place in the S.B.L. with a 6 win 4 loss record. Accepting the invitation to be in the Small School Tourney at U. of M., the Wildcats were planning on a championship. These plans went down the drain in our first game against St. Mary's of Westfield. lf Lee High is asked to be in this Tourney next year, better luck, and a better team will add up to victory. Graduation will take four men from the team: namely, Dave Navin, Ronnie Driscoll, Dick Laureyns, and Louie Airoldi, but with the boys that remain Coach Consolati should have a S.B.L. Championship. The Class of' '58 wish the Wildcats all the luck in the world next year and the years to come. 63 BASKETBALL .vt 1 .1 . Wadsworth, L, Airoldi, Coach Consolati, B ,EX S E B A L L, Will Lee High have the power to win the championship as it had in the past years? With the loss of seven lettermen it will be a hard climb to the top, but with a coach like John Consolati and Lee's.everlasting confidence it can be done. Returned lettermen are Louis Airoldi, who was outstanding both as a catcher and an outfielder. Wiggs Wadsworth, who is one of the best first sackers in both leagues, has ability at the plate which ranks second to none. Bill Salinetti who showed a vast improvement last year is at third base. He is a tremendous fielder and with more experience should go a long vvay. Francis Winters is Coach Consolati's ace pitcher this year. Not only is Francis a good pitcher but he is also a slugger at the plate. Dick Salinetti returns holding down a position in the infield. Other potential Wildcats are, Pete Cerutti, Mark Withers, Francis Arment, Michael Simone. Although Lee's inexperience is a handicap we bet that the team's 29 straight victories would be 39 at the end ot the Southern Berkshire League. As tor last year's results, the tearn won nine and lost none, a record that Lee High should be proud ot, The scores were: Lee Williams Lee Searles Lee Chester Lee Mt.
