BABY TIGERS Auburn High Wins Over Starke, 54-37 Takes 5th In State Boby Tigers Win Cliff Green Trophy Coach Hause's Auburn Baby Tigers track team won the invitational track and field meet at Cramton Bowl at Montgomery Apt-il 20, 1945, against 15 other competing high school teams. By winning the meet the Tigers brought to Auburn the coveted Cliff Green Trophy until the meet is held again to decide the winner for another year. Jim Beaslev, Auburn's flash star sprinter. was high point man of the meet with 10 points, winning first in the 100 yard and 440 yard dashes. Charles Thomas made 312 points by getting a tie for second place in the high jump and fourth in the discus. Earl Lancaster won second in the broad jump and James Young second in the shot put. making three points each. Louis O'Grady was second in the pole vault, making 21: points. lflrifggii Left to Right.
