E 1011 May 18, 1955 Auburn, Alabama Dear Professor Parrish: After ten years, I thought you'd like to know what the students of the 1945 graduating class are doing. Pat Tippins is in New York writing a novel which will be illustrated by Betty Sue Eaton, the famous artist. That class produced another great artist, Hugh Williams. He is art director for 20th Century Fox where Florence Farnham is gaining fame as an actress. Lois Swingle models the dresses for Model magazine for which Kay Dinkins does the designing. Betty Beverly is editor of this magazine. ' Martha Propst caught her a man soon after graduation and is now living with her husband and three children in Demopolis, Alabama. David Vann is now a lawyer and a partner with Jack Jones in a San Francisco Iaw firm. I guess you've heard about the rocket ship that's to make a trip to Jupiter. That's the ingenious work of Carlyle Burkhardt and John Buchanan. Earl Lancaster is in Europa helping with the reconstruction of the large cities. He's a great architect. Mary Saidla is also over there helping as a foreign service worker. Bob Voyles is an athletic Coach in Auburn and Cecil Ward is playing professional football in the north. Thad Salmon got himself a nice wife and they're thriving on that wonderful farm of his in Kentucky. It seems that Bill Cook and Byron Forbus really liked the services. Bill's still in the Air Corps and Byron's still in the Navy. Ann Sturkie is a nurse at the same hospital in Chicago where Pat Van Patten is the Iiead Doctor of Brain Surgery. Thomas Lowe is also practicing medicine at Jacksonvi'le, Florida. Jean Patterson and Jeannette Godwin are stenographers in Los Angeles. Eunetta Gunter is the composer of the new iingles advertising tooth paste and soap. The deep voiced Byrd Moore is the singer of them. Christine Patillo and Imogene Langley liked the WAVES so well that they stayed in after the war. If you'II tune in WJHO you may hear the new serial Down on First Floor or Too Lazy to Go Upstairs, starring Susan Lawson and sponsored by the Eternal Makeup Corporation, created by Helen Simms. Marie Kerhahn went back to New York and is really taking in the money from her new donut factory. Of course, there had to be teachers from that class. Meme Elizonda is a professor at A. P. I., and Janet Smith is teaching at Auburn High. George Dawson is the Secretary of Agriculture'in Alabama and Dallas Mitchell is an Engineer working in the Everglades. Last, but not least, is Cora Jean Amos. She was the only Mrs. in that class. She is living with her husband in Brooklyn, New York, where her husband is stationed in the Navy. I hope this brings back some pleasant memories of the Class of '45. THE TEACHER OF THE CLASS OF '45, MRS. JOHN INGRAM. PRUPHEUY
