I-IISTCJRY ' On a bright morning in September, 1933, a gifted group appeared in the halls of Lee County High School. We were glad that Miss Duggar was our first teacher. She gave us such a good start that our grammar school days were made easy, and from our present advanced state, seem to have passed very quickly. The most exciting step in our school life came upon our promotion to high school. Our feeling of importance was tremendous until we found how easy it was to be lost. The first two years of Junior High were uneventful except for our pride in winning a name for good behavior. Junior Ill was a happy year for us because for the first time we were allowed'to go to the school dances. For various reasons we were a small class until Senior High School when our number was increased by out of town students. Because of wartime conditions our membership has changed continuously. Some of the original students have taken extra work in order to graduate early and our ranks have been joined by boys and girls from the grade below who wished to take advantage of the speeded up program. The only member of the class who entered school with first grade is Meme Elizonda. Florence Farnham ioined the class in grammar school. ln Junior l Susan Lawson and Hugh Williams entered. In Senior l Cora Jean Amos, Christine Patillo, George Dawson, Jean Patterson, and Earl Lancaster were added. Last year Carlyle Burkhardt, John Buchanan and Byrd Moore come to us. In this, our final year, we have welcomed Calvin Cook, Jack Jones, Betty Beverly, Kay Dinkins, Thad Salmon, Bill Cook, David Vann, Pat Van Patten, Pat Tippins, Martha Propst, Mary Saidla, Thomas Lowe, Ann Sturkie, Betty Sue Eaton, and Lois Swingle from the present Senior ll Class, and as transfer students from other schools, Bob Voyles, Marie Kehrhahn, Imogene Langley, Helen Sims, and Cleo Winsett. Our Senior year has furnished our most cherished memories, We are fortunate in having Mrs. Ingram as our Homeroom teacher. We would never have dreamed that our graduation would bring the regret we feel on leaving Lee County High School.
